World's first bricks and mortar VR cinema opens in Amsterdam
Amsterdam was first, but more bricks and mortar VR Cinemas are expected to open in other cities around the world during this year.
This is not a traditional movie cinama or theater. The VR Cinema does not have a big screen with lots of seats facing the screen. Instead, viewers sit in chairs that swivel and put on a Samsung Gear VR headsets and a pair of headphones. Viewers turn freely in their swivel seats to see the 360 degrees VR movie.
Your next experience going to the movies could be one with a VR headset instead of staring at huge screen in a dark room.
We do not know if VR movie theaters will be the next big thing. It is simply to early to tell and the technology is still very new and is likely to change significantly in the future as it matures.
